What do you do when your life is less than traditional? Try and make it extraordinary.

Hey there, I’m Sara and I’m not going to pretend that I am hugely interesting. What I’m hoping might be of interest is what I do next …

Like so many, I got to my late thirties with a nice home and my own business. Then decided to have a career midlife crisis and became a writer … both professionally and for pleasure.

I’m only halfway down this particular adventure and its been a ride, but that’s not the only reason I’ve started this blog ..

I decided to not have kids. All the reasons why were valid, but it still left me with bit of a hole in my life. Then the global pandemic struck and in this new world where we have less – less connection, less time –  I suddenly wanted to do more.

So I made a decision, my life didn’t need to be unfulfilled just because I was that bit older and didn’t have a family. Only I could live my life and therefore it was down to me if I wanted it to be extraordinary.

Easier said then down, I hear you say. Damn right. My original plan was to go explore the world, to try different things and find out what brought me joy. 2020 had different ideas and there is now a new heaviness in my heart. But then I decided; isn’t that more reason to get back on the horse? Maybe I just need to come at this sideways …

I’m going to focus on all experiences … big and small … anything that brings joy and happiness. And I am going to delve into what makes good stories as I tell mine. Writing after all is at the heart of my community and I’d like to encourage others to try some new things. Publish their stories and give others a voice. Live a life less ordinary.
